Sidenotes are a scratchpad for generated names you do not want to lose. Save the strong picks, save the odd near-misses, then sort them out later when you are not in the middle of rolling.

Start with a generator or a pack and roll more than one batch. You are looking for names worth keeping, not a perfect final answer on the first try.
Click the star beside a result you want to keep. Sign in if asked and check the save status. If a change is pending or failed, retain a copy and use Retry rather than assuming it reached your account.
Use the round clipboard button in the bottom-right corner. The panel shows your saved values, copy buttons, delete controls, and links back to each source generator.
Go to /favorites when the floating panel gets crowded. Search by name or generator, group related values, and remove anything you no longer need.
Save names that pass the first test: they make you pause. They do not need to be perfect yet. A rough name with the right rhythm is more useful than a polished name that feels wrong for the character.
Save invented names that suggest a direction. Maybe the spelling is too much, but the ending works. Maybe the first half belongs on one character and the second half belongs somewhere else. That is exactly what a scratchpad is for.
For real-world names, check sources and usage instead of combining syllables and presenting the result as traditional.
Use the floating panel while you are actively generating. It sits in the bottom-right corner, shows a count badge, and keeps copy/delete controls within reach.
Use the favorites page when you are done rolling and ready to make choices. It has search and grouping, which helps when you have saved names from several generators.
Export shown TXT or CSV downloads the displayed values in their current order, including pending saves. CSV includes source and style; potentially executable spreadsheet cells receive a leading apostrophe so they are treated as text. TXT preserves the original values without that marker.
Go to favoritesA confirmed save is stored for your signed-in account. Pending additions and removals are retained locally for retry. If another tab changed the list, review the current account state before retrying your changes. Browser storage must be available for recovery to work. A guest save retains one selected value through sign-in in the same tab, not a complete guest shortlist.
On Favorites, clear the search to see all values, then copy or export what you want to keep. Use an individual delete control or Clear All to remove values from the current collection. Wait for removal confirmation; a pending deletion has not finished syncing.
Removing current values does not establish erasure of older Clerk metadata, browser copies on other devices, or provider backups. Clearing this browser's site data removes local recovery copies but not server data. Close other site tabs first, and expect to lose any unsynced changes.
Custom generators have separate lists and patterns at My Generators. Copy those fields before deleting a saved generator. A local draft can remain after sign-out. For wider account-data or deletion questions, read the privacy policy and contact instructions. Do not put private work or account details in the public issue tracker.
Clear All requests removal of the current saved-value list, including values hidden by a search. Copy or export important work first, and wait for confirmation. This is not a complete-account deletion or a way to erase every legacy copy.
