Download fresh tavern names batches for drafts, campaigns, and prototypes.

Generate fantasy tavern and inn names for your D&D campaign, novel, or game world. Each name blends a vivid adjective with an animal for that classic pub feel.
A good tavern name does a lot of quiet work. It tells players what kind of place they have walked into before the bartender says a word, and it gives a location a name they will remember three sessions later. This generator leans on a pattern that real inns have used for a long time: a descriptive word paired with an animal, like "The Brave Wolf" or "The Golden Hare Inn".
Each result is composed from two generators that already live on this site. One supplies a vivid adjective, the other supplies an animal, and a small set of patterns frames them with words like "The" and "Inn". Because the parts come from separate generators, the same building blocks can be reused and recombined across other worldbuilding tools without rewriting the word lists.
Treat a generated name as a starting point. The sound of "The Crimson Fox" might suggest a smugglers' den, while "The Quiet Otter" reads like a sleepy riverside stop. Pick the name that sparks a detail you can describe at the table, then build the room, the regulars, and the rumors around it.
Once you have a tavern, give the surrounding settlement a name with the fantasy town generator and staff the bar with faces from the NPC generator.
